(This is not a sponsored post. I just really love these products and wanted to share my latest idea!)
In case you’ve been living under a rock, let me start with this: I am obsessed with Me & My Big Ideas. It’s not very good for my wallet, but oh well! With their spring release, they also released these new Mambi Sheets:
They can be found at Michael’s and expand to four times the size of the pad. The texture is more like wrapping paper than scrapbook paper, but can still be used in a million different ways. These are just three of the packs. They had multiple packs, and it appears that a lot of them match the new line of planners, which I’m obsessed with. I personally bought the ones that match the “Be Bright” and “Botanical Garden” planners. (Middle and Right) My sister got the one that matches “Fresh Floral” (Left), as that is the planner she purchased. I can already think of a few different ways to incorporate these in your new planner, but I will wait until a later time to post those ideas!
I knew I wanted to use these sheets as soon as possible, and I have a bachelorette party to attend today… so I decided to put these papers to good use for that! I bought a plain white box at Michael’s and got to work!
First you will need the following supplies:
- A box
- Mambi Sheets
- Tape Runner (Regular Tape would work as well!)
I chose a sheet from each of these packs because I thought they coordinated well. The floral print is from the pack that matches “Botanical Garden” and the stripes are from the pack that matched “Be Bright”. (Pictured Above)
I cut the floral sheet so that it would cover the sides of the box with enough overlap to go on the top and bottom just a tad. My paper was then in one long, skinnier piece. I ran my tape runner across all four sides of the box, then stuck the paper down. Since the paper was one strip, I just kept running the tape along the sides, then wrapping it around the box until all four sides were covered. Then it was time to fold the edges over onto the top and the bottom, and I did that like you would when wrapping a present. I hope the below pictures help to explain that part of the process. (If you wanted to cover the entire bottom, you could also do that. I didn’t want to waste this gorgeous paper on a bottom that is never seen though, which is why I chose not to.)
Next up was the top. I cut the striped paper so that it covered the top and would also fold over onto the insides of the top. I then ran my tape on all four sides of the top and stuck the paper to it. Then I folded it over the edges like I would when wrapping a present.
This blog post has showed me that I really need to slow down when making things and take better pictures to show exactly what I’m doing, but I hope that you are able to at least get the gist of how I did this.
I then used the spare paper to decorate a matching card set. I already had this blank stationary in my office, but I got it at Michaels a few years back. I used a tape runner again to apply the paper to the card. The “Bride” sticker is from the Mambi “Our Big Day” Sticker pack. I love the final product and I can’t wait to give it to the Bride-to-Be at her bachelorette party tonight!
